E30 Sunroof Access Panel With 2 Driver Clips

The E30 Update Sunroof Access Panel with 2 driver clips is a replacement part for an oft-breaking E30 interior part. Why did the E30 interior design team put this snap-in plastic cover there in the first place? It was to allow someone to access the sunroof drive gear. While many of us have a well-stocked tool kit on hand at all times, even those can be lacking a 4mm Alan driver.
